Bentonite clay

Calcium bentonite clay
Also called calcium montmorillonite clay

For internal and external use.

Our completely natural, sun-dried calcium benonite clay is one of the most treasured therapeutic-grade clays in the world.
It is mined in a pristine location outside of Death Valley National Park, in the Mojave Desert, California.
It is a magnesium-rich, volcanic-origin smectite which is taken from the ground and milled to 325 mesh. It is not chemically processed or heat treated in any way and has a pH of between 9.5 and 10.0.

This clay was has been laboratory tested and shown to have antimicrobial properties, one of the few alkaline clays in the world to have such.

This clay has a history of use spanning hundreds of years, and was used by Native Americans (Shoshone and Pauite southwest tribes) both internally and externally.

Suggested uses
Internal:
Add 1 tablespoon of clay to a 250ml glass of water (children half this dosage). Drink the clay water one to three times a day.

External:
Create a clay gel or paste (known as clay magma) by combining two to three cups of water for every cup of clay.
Do not use metal utensils.
Let the clay set, sealed, for one to three days, then 'turn' the clay with a non-metal spatula so the clay at the bottom is now on the top.
Store in a glass or ceramic container.

Compresses, poultices, clay pack
First prepare a clay magma (see above).
Add water to the clay magma until the desired consistency is achieved.
Thoroughly soak a clean white dressing in the clay or baste one side of the dressing with clay.
Use directly on the body.

Clay detox baths
Add between one and 12 cups of dry clay to a hot bath. Soak for between 15 and 60 minutes.
The clay must be completely hydrated (watery) to avoid clogging the plumbing. Do not allow clumps to drain through the bath.

This clay is classified as ‘Generally Regarded As Safe’ by the US FDA. However, this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

NB: Please do not ask our advice about taking this clay internally. We are not health practitioners. We are merely stating that this clay is safe for internal use and giving you the directions from the supplier.
