Lavender also has cytophylactic properties which promote rapid healing and help to reduce scarring.

Interesting information: At one time Lavandula vera was called Lavandula officinalis. The officinalis refers to the designation as an official plant used in medicine but this term has been replaced with the term angustifolia. Vera is thought to be the original species lavender.
