Description: Peppermint arvensis is known for its high content of menthol, so high in fact that menthol crystals form on the surface of the leaves. There are several species of this perennial herb that can grow to 1m, spreading due to their underground runners. Peppermint has hairy leaves with serrated edges and purple spiked flowers. The plant also produces Piperita mentha oil.
