How to make gingerbread hand cream

An easy-to-make hand wash and lotion set that's almost good enough to eat.

Our versatile ready-made cosmetic bases are designed to be customised with imaginative additions, from essential oil blends to colourful clays and exfoliants.

To make this easy, autumnal hand wash and lotion set, we took two of our most popular ready-made products: our handmade castile soap base and light moisturiser cream, and fragranced them with a blend of essential oils, which you can also buy ready-blended here

Initially, we also experimented with adding pumice (10-15g for a 250ml bottle) to the hand wash, to make a gorgeous, exfoliating wash. We found that the lotion pump tends to get a little blocked after a while though with this method, which is a pity as it's a luxurious way to wash your hands, and helps the lotion sink in beautifully. If you like the sound of it, you could package the exfoliating wash in a jar instead.

We packaged the set in our amber glass 250ml jars, and added handwritten labels and ribbon. You can get as creative as you like, with the packaging and the fragrance, but hope this gives you some inspiration to start with!
