Mango & vanilla moisturiser bar

This recipe is so easy!

Keep your skin smooth and satisfied with this mango butter bar – the warmth of your skin is enough to create a fine film of moisturiser.  Great for taking on holiday or throwing in your gym bag.

Ingredients
Makes 200g - use our Batch Size Calculator and the percentages provided here to easily adjust the volume of your batch.

Phase A
52g | 26% Beeswax (organic, yellow or white - pictured is made with white)
60g | 30% Mango butter, certified organic
84g | 42% Safflower oil, certified organic

Phase B
2g | 1% Vitamin E, certified organic
2g | 1% Vanilla essential oil, cosmetic grade

Tip: The Phase A ingredients can start to set quite quickly so it's helpful to pre-measure your Phase B ingredients into a beaker or dish so that it's ready to go.

Method
  • Weigh your Phase A ingredients into a pot on the stove top, melt and stir gently.
  • Once melted, take off the heat and add Phase B ingredients.
  • Pour into silicone mould/s or large kraft tube/s and allow to set. (Put it in the fridge to speed up the setting process.)
To use
  • Apply directly to skin and allow the natural heat from your skin to melt the bar. Massage full body and allow skin to absorb.
Substitutions
  • You can use any type of beeswax.
  • You can use a different butter, though keep in mind different butters have different solidities and may change the solidity of the final bar. You can adjust by adding more beeswax with a softer butter but it may take some playing with ratios.
  • You can use a different carrier oil, it shouldn't change the consistency too much but may change the colour and/smell.
  • You can use any essential oil or fragrance oil or leave it unfragranced.
