About The Ingredients

Bakuchiol
Bakuchiol is a natural alternative to retinol but without any of the associated negative side effects, particularly for sensitive skin. A potent antioxidant, it has been clinically demonstrated to reduce hyperpigmentation and address multiple signs of ageing as efficiently as retinol. It can also be used in conjunction with retinol products. It is said to increase skin cell turnover, helping to remove dead skin cells and replace them with new, fresh cells, giving skin an overall smoother and more even skin tone.

Barbary fig seed oil (aka prickly pear seed), certified organic
Barbary fig seed oil can penetrate below the surface of the skin for maximum benefits without leaving any oily residue. It has an almost silicone feel to it rather than oil. It's great for all skin types, supporting skin repair after trauma and providing protection from environmental stress. Excellent for mature skin as it helps address signs of ageing, while the high fatty acid content plumps skin to help smooth wrinkles and increase firmness.

Avocado oil, certified organic
Rich in fatty acids avocado oil is an excellent skin moisturiser. With natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents, high vitamin E content, potassium, lecithin, and many other nutrients that can help nourish and repair skin, helping it stay smooth, strong, and elastic.

Squalane - olive
Squalane is an unsaturated oil produced by our own skin cells and is part of our skin’s natural moisture. It can also be found in a variety of plants such as olives (our one), sugarcane, rice bran and shark liver. It is put through a hydrogenation process to make it a fully saturated, stable oil with a long shelf life. Squalane oil is non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) and suitable for all skin types, particularly good for dry, sensitive, oily or acne prone skin. A natural ingredient, it is fast absorbing and non-greasy and can be used directly on skin as a face oil. It is a highly effective emollient, natural antioxidant and all round excellent moisturiser, which leaves skin soft and hydrated with a silky skin feel. Said to help heal chapped lips, dry and irritated skin such as eczema and psoriasis, help regulate oil production and help protect skin from free radicals which cause premature signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Macadamia nut oil, certified organic*
Can help balance oily skin and works well for dry and mature skin. It also contains a high amount of oleic acid which can be very effective for softening skin and helping in the regeneration of new skin cells. Its Linoleic acid content can help restore skin barrier and help with moisture retention.

*should be avoided by people with nut allergies

Jasmine 3% in organic jojoba oil
On its own jasmine absolute is extremely expensive ($80 for 5ml!) so by having it as a 3% dilution it's possible to enjoy its incredible scent without the price tag. Jojoba oil is extremely popular as it’s an excellent all round oil. Because it so closely resembles skin’s natural sebum (the oil your skin naturally creates) it makes it easy to absorb and helps balance oil production by tricking naturally oily skin into thinking it has produced enough oil. Also very moisturising for dry skin, jojoba is full of nutrients such as vitamin E, as well as antioxidants and minerals like chromium, copper, and zinc, which all nourish and protect skin. Organic, cold-pressed jojoba oil has the highest level of antioxidants and nutrients.

Vitamin E, certified organic
A natural product produced from GMO free soybeans, vitamin E is an antioxidant that can assist in maintaining cell integrity, promoting cell turnover and regeneration. It is also said to be effective at reducing UV damage in skin and applied topically can help nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals. It can help to firm skin, increase skin elasticity and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin E oil will help prevent rancidity  and extend the shelf-life in anhydrous products at 0.5%.
