Evening primrose oil is pressed from the seeds of the evening primrose plant. The yellow flowers only open in the evening, hence their common name.
Evening primrose oil contains a large percentage of Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid found in plant oils, which is particularly good for skin.
GLA is also a more rare type of omega-6 (more often the omega-6 found in oils is in the form of linoleic acid) which gives this oil unique skin uses.
Evening primrose oil is also exceptionally high in linoleic acid, which provides moisture to the skin without weighing it down. It can help to fortify and protect the skin’s barrier against free radicals which lead to signs of premature ageing and is said to improve the feel of skin softness and elasticity.
Packaging - See our blog on our commitment to sustainable packaging.
Our carrier oils come in amber glass bottles with 28mm neck in volumes:

Larger volumes must be packaged in plastic as glass becomes too dangerous to ship.
500ml: Amber PET plastic bottle with 28mm neck.
1L and 5L: PET white plastic jerrycans.
*on occasion, i.e. when ordered alone, 250ml may be packaged in PET amber plastic to save on shipping costs.
