Description: Elemi is a tropical tree that can grow up to 30 metres. It exudes a yellow resin when leaves are sprouting.

Colour: pale yellow

Common uses: The therapeutic properties of elemi oil include use as a tonic, antiseptic and as a stimulating agent. It can give users a feeling of peace, be effective on wounds and cuts.

Blends well with: sage, frankincense, rosemary, myrrh and lavender.

Safety data: Avoid during pregnancy; skin irritant (dilute before using externally); may trigger epileptic seizures in susceptible individuals.
