Phase A
78.75% | 157.5g water

Phase B
15% | 30g camellia oil, certified organic
5% | 10g emulsifier O

Phase C

Geogard 221 (preservative)
0.25% | 0.5g essential oil of your choice (optional)

Method

  • In separate pots heat both Phase A and Phase B to 65°C.
  • When both are at 65°C, pour Phase B into Phase A and blend with stick blender until thick.
  • Let cool to 40°C then add Phase C and blend again.
  • Allow to cool to below 25°C. Check/adjust the final pH to 5 - 5.5 (Check out our blog on pH adjusting HERE)
  • Cover and leave overnight, the mixture will reach its full thickness and be ready to package the following day.
  • Give product a final stir, pour into pot/s and you're done!

To use

  • Apply as the last phase of your skincare routine (before sunscreen for daytime use).
  • Massage into skin and allow to absorb.

Substitutions

  • You can replace all or part of the water phase with hydrosols or aloe vera juice.
  • You can replace the camellia oil with another carrier oil, or multiple other carrier oils, as long as combined they still equal 15% of the whole formula.
  • Keep in mind changes can affect the colour, smell, feel and/or viscosity of the finished product.
