How Can I Trust Your Products Are Real at This Price?
We often get asked: Are your products legit? Why are they so cheap compared to other places?
It’s a fair question, especially these days, when low prices can sometimes be a red flag for fake, diluted, or low-quality ingredients. But in our case, there’s a much simpler explanation: We’re not a retailer. We’re a wholesaler.
We’ve been in business for nearly 20 years, and this question has come up time and time again. In fact, we love it when people ask because it gives us the chance to explain who we are and how we work.
Because for every person who sends an email or gives us a call to double check, there are probably ten others who see the price and simply assume it’s too good to be true. They move on without ever knowing that our ingredients are the real deal - pure, high-quality, and carefully sourced from trusted suppliers.
So we wrote this blog for you, for all the people who don’t have time to call, or aren’t sure if they should ask. This is the behind-the-scenes look at how our business works, and how we’re able to offer professional-quality ingredients at a fraction of the retail price you might be used to seeing.
We buy in bulk and pack to order
We buy directly from growers or as close to the source as possible, and we buy in large quantities. That lets us keep our prices down. We also decant and pack everything to order, so the day your order comes through, we fill your specific bottles, print your labels, and get your parcel packed up—reducing waste and avoiding unnecessary inventory. Our labels are printed in-house, and while they might not be flashy, they keep things functional and low-cost.
No frills, no mark-ups
Unlike many larger companies, we don’t use expensive packaging or outsource our fulfilment. We don’t have custom-printed boxes, gold-foil embossing, or branded ribbons. And there’s no retailer in between adding an extra layer of mark-up. It’s just us, our products, our hands, and our family-run workshop in the house I grew up in in Devonport, Auckland.
Yes, everything is real and pure
We know it can be hard to trust low prices, especially with dodgy platforms like Temu offering questionable ingredients at unbelievable prices. But transparency is at the core of everything we do. If something is diluted, we’ll tell you. Like our Rose Absolute 3% in jojoba oil, which is clearly labelled as a dilution. If a product is labelled as pure, it is 100% pure, unadulterated, and ready to go straight into your formulation.
We’re not a corporation - we're a family
Go Native New Zealand has been running out of our family home for nearly 20 years. It was started by Elinor, and today the business is still run by just a handful of us. If you call us, you’ll likely get Chelsea (that’s me!) who also replies to emails, manages our orders, and runs our social media (when there's time!). Our workshop team fills, packs, and labels everything by hand. There are no off-site call centres or extra departments, just real people, on the ground, who genuinely care about the ingredients we sell.
No loyalty program - just everyday wholesale prices
We get asked why we don’t run points systems or loyalty discounts, and the simple truth is that we already keep prices as low as we can. We’d rather keep things fair for everyone than inflate our prices just to offer a discount later. If you’re looking to save even more, buying in bulk is always the best value.
So yes, our prices are lower than you might be used to and that’s exactly the point. We’ve built a business that cuts the fat without cutting corners. We stand by our products, and we’re always happy to answer questions, explain ingredients, or help you choose the right option for your needs.
Thank you for trusting us with your skincare creations.
