Charcoal Melt & Pour Soap Formula
Ingredients
Makes 1 loaf mould about 1kg – Adjust batch volume with Go Native NZ’s Batch Size Calculator

1kg of white M&P soap base
-
100g cocoa butter
- 1 tbsp Activated Charcoal
- 4ml Eucalyptus Essential Oil or swap out for your most loved Essentail Oil
Method
Stovetop: Melt the soap base over the stove in a glass jar.
Microwave: Melt the cubes in a heat-safe container in the microwave in 30-second bursts.
- Mix the activated charcoal, oil, and essential oil in a small container
- Chop the soap base into small pieces and melt it in the microwave in 20–30 second bursts
- Add the oil mixture to the melted soap and stir it in thoroughly
- Pour the soap into moulds
- Spray the top of each pour with isopropyl alcohol to remove bubbles (optional)
- Let the soap cool and harden for several hours or overnight
- Remove the soap from the mould and enjoy
