Bentonite clay
Our bentonite clay is a light-khaki, fine–medium smectite clay valued for its strong adsorptive action. It swells in water to help draw away excess oil and surface impurities, leaving skin feeling fresh and refined. Ideal for clarifying face masks, body treatments and occasional scalp detoxes, it can be used alone or blended with softer clays (like kaolin) for a gentler pull. For dry or sensitive skin, add a little hydrosol, aloe, or a few drops of oil for extra comfort.

How to use (single mask)
- Add 1 tbsp clay to a non-metal bowl.
- Slowly mix in water or hydrosol (add a splash of oil for dry skin) to a creamy paste.
- Apply a thick layer to clean skin.
- Leave up to 10 minutes (don’t let it fully crack—mist if needed).
- Rinse with warm water, then follow with your favourite oil or moisturiser.
Tip: A quick steam or warm cloth beforehand helps open pores.
Formulation notes
- Customise: A few drops of face oil, aloe or honey can soften the pull.
- Blend: Pairs well with kaolin (softer), charcoal (extra purifying) or botanicals.
- Scalp: Mix to a pourable paste, apply to roots for 5–10 minutes, then rinse.

- No metal utensils: Bentonite can bind metals—use wood, bamboo, glass or plastic.
- Patch test first; use 1–2× weekly max, especially on dry or sensitive skin.
