Zinc Oxide
(Non-Coated, USP Grade)
Our zinc oxide is a high-quality, non-nano, non-coated powder suitable for use in a wide range of personal care formulations. USP grade and cosmetic safe, it’s commonly used for its soothing properties, natural opacity, and effective UV protection.
Zinc oxide is an essential ingredient in mineral sunscreens, offering broad-spectrum protection by reflecting and scattering UVA and UVB rays. It is also valued in skincare for its mild astringent and skin-calming benefits, making it ideal for formulations designed for sensitive, irritated, or acne-prone skin.
This uncoated version is best suited to oil-based products such as balms, anhydrous sunscreen sticks, nappy balms, and zinc creams, where its natural white colour can provide coverage and even skin tone. It is also used in cold-process soaps for whitening and opacifying.
Important: This zinc oxide is not approved for use in homemade sunscreens unless the final product has undergone SPF testing. For more information, see our blog post: Why You Shouldn’t Make Your Own DIY Sunscreen
