Description

Kaolin clay

Origin: NZ
Type: Kaolin

No chemicals are used in the extraction of the clay. It is dried in a large conveyor oven heated by gas which is the most efficient way of drying the clay and does not compromise the quality.

NZ kaolin clay is a cream/khaki colour and is used for oily, acne-prone skin.
When using clay add purified water, floral water, or hydrosol and mix into a paste.  Apply to the face or body. Allow to dry, rinse it off, and use your favourite moisturiser to finish.

Clay has been used for thousands of years to treat injuries, soothe pains, heal wounds, strengthen the body’s defences, disinfect, cleanse and beautify.

Clays work wonders to cure everyday illnesses, to stimulate, reinvigorate and rejuvenate cells and tissues, making them an ideal ingredient for skin care and natural beauty products.

Clay absorbs undesirable particles, like germs, bacteria and gas; immobilises impurities or toxic substances in the body and eliminates them; and acts as a powerful antiseptic and disinfecting agent.
Clay can also destroy pathogenic germs effectively and efficiently, without endangering tissues.

Uses of clay
Clay can be used in its raw state for many purposes.
Some uses include:
Poultices

Recipe

Basic clay mask

1 tbsp white clay
water or oil

Whisk the clay with a fork and enough liquid to form a smooth paste.
Spread on your face and neck with your fingers and leave to nearly dry. (Try to lie down.) Rinse off.

For best results with clays:
Steam clean the face to open pores. Mix clay with water and apply.
Spritz the mask with water or toner once it has been applied to keep the mask active. Don’t let the mask dry out fully.
