Black iron oxide is a naturally occurring mineral pigment made from compounds of iron and oxygen. It is considered safe, gentle, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
Iron oxides are affordable and highly durable pigments available in rich, earthy shades such as red, yellow, brown, and black. They are widely used in both mineral and conventional makeup formulations.
This pigment is moisture resistant, has excellent staying power, and does not easily bleed or smear.
With intense colouring ability, black iron oxide is commonly used in products like eyeliner, mascara, brow powders, and eyeshadows. It is also ideal for colouring cold-process soap and other personal care products. Its deep, concentrated hue means only a small amount is needed for strong results.
