Black iron oxide is a cosmetic-grade, nature identical pigment produced synthetically to ensure purity, safety, and consistency. Known for its deep, opaque black tone, it is a staple colourant in both makeup and personal care products.
It offers strong tinting strength, excellent coverage, and stability, making it especially useful in pressed powders, eyeliners, mascaras, brow products, and eyeshadows. In soapmaking, it provides a bold, solid black without bleeding or fading, even in cold process formulations.
Because it is synthetically produced rather than mined, this pigment avoids concerns about natural impurities while still delivering the same composition as naturally occurring iron oxides.
