Extra virgin olive oil is one of the most widely used plant oils in both cooking and traditional skincare. Cold pressed from the fruit of the olive tree, it is known for its rich composition of fatty acids and its naturally conditioning skin feel.

In cosmetic formulations, olive oil provides a nourishing base oil that works well in creams, balms, soaps and massage oils. Its relatively slow absorption rate makes it particularly useful in products designed to leave a protective, conditioning layer on the skin.

Thanks to its stability and versatility, olive oil can be used across a wide range of formulations and is often included in recipes where a richer, more emollient oil phase is desired.
