Yellow iron oxide is a cosmetic-grade, nature identical pigment known for its earthy, golden-yellow tones. It is widely used in colour cosmetics, especially in foundations, bronzers, and powders, because it blends well with other iron oxides to create a wide range of natural-looking shades.
It is highly stable, non-bleeding, and resistant to moisture, making it suitable for both makeup and soapmaking. In cold process soap, yellow iron oxide creates warm ochre to golden tones that remain true over time.
Because it is synthetically produced rather than mined, this pigment avoids concerns about natural impurities while still delivering the same composition as naturally occurring iron oxides.
