The rosewood tree is a giant evergreen tree bearing the scientific name Aniba Roseadora.

Rosewood essential oil is extracted from the woody matter of the rosewood tree by steam distillation. Its main components are alpha-terpineol, alpha-pinene, benzaldehyde, cineole, camphene, geranial, geraniol, neral, myrcene, limonene, linalool, and linalool oxide.

With an invigorating sweet, spicy, and floral aroma rosewood essential oil is said to help lift mood and calm anxiety, also helping to boost memory and keep you active, sharp and alert while possibly helping to ease headaches. Also said to be good for libido and self-confidence. Can help improve quality of sleep, possibly due to its linalool content.

Rosewood essential oil has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties which may have a beneficial effect on conditions like psoriasis, acne and eczema.

Its skin regenerative properties are said to help rejuvenate the skin, helping it looking healthy and young.

Rosewood essential oil is said to have insecticidal properties and can deter small insects.

A great way to use woody essential oils is in a diffuser.
