Grown and cold-pressed in Aotearoa New Zealand, this virgin blackcurrant seed oil (Ribes nigrum) is nutrient-rich and highly valued in both skincare and haircare formulations. Dark in colour with a naturally earthy aroma, it is most often blended with lighter carrier oils in cosmetic blends.

Lightweight and easily absorbed, blackcurrant seed oil is especially popular for its nourishing properties. It contains a unique balance of essential fatty acids — including gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), and stearidonic acid (SDA) — which are commonly used in skincare to support hydration and skin softness.
