Blue Mermaid Mica
Blue Mermaid mica is a striking, bright blue pigment that delivers bold, shimmering colour to cosmetics and soaps. With its pearlescent finish, it adds depth and brilliance to eyeshadows, lip products, and highlighters, as well as decorative swirls in soaps.
Mica is a fine mineral powder that reflects light to create a pearlescent effect on the skin. It is produced by coating natural mica flakes with metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, iron oxide, or zirconium dioxide. The resulting colour depends on the thickness of these oxide layers, giving each mica its unique hue and shimmer.
The finish also varies by particle size: fine particles create a smooth satin sheen, while larger particles enhance sparkle and glitter. In clear M&P soap, Blue Mermaid mica is especially vibrant, creating dazzling layers of blue that shift with the light. In opaque soaps, the effect is more subtle, but swirls or brushed-on accents still produce beautiful, eye-catching highlights.
