Catnip Essential Oil

Catnip essential oil has a crisp, herbal, and slightly minty aroma. It is steam distilled from the leaves of Nepeta cataria and valued for its natural insect-repelling and calming properties.

About Catnip Essential Oil

Catnip essential oil contains nepetalactone, a naturally occurring compound known for its ability to help repel mosquitoes, flies, and other insects. In aromatherapy, it offers a refreshing, green scent that can promote relaxation and focus. It also adds a pleasant herbal note to home fragrance blends such as potpourri, candles, and room sprays.

While catnip is famous for its effect on cats, this essential oil is highly concentrated and not intended for direct use on or around animals. If you choose to use it for cat toys or enrichment, only apply a very small, well-diluted amount to an object (such as a cloth or toy), allow it to dry completely, and always supervise your pet. Never apply essential oils directly to a cat’s skin or fur, and discontinue use if any signs of irritation or distress appear.
