Clary sage essential oil, certified organic

Clary sage essential oil has a warm, herbaceous, and subtly floral aroma that is often described as grounding and soothing. The oil is steam distilled from the flowers and leaves of Salvia sclarea, a biennial or perennial herb that grows up to 1m tall with large, hairy leaves and small bluish-purple flowers.

About Clary Sage Essential Oil

Traditionally valued for its relaxing scent, clary sage has long been used in perfumery and aromatherapy to promote calm and emotional balance. The name “clary” derives from the Latin clarus, meaning “clear.” In 16th-century England, clary sage was even used in brewing as a substitute for hops.

Clary sage essential oil is popular in natural perfumes and blends designed to create a serene atmosphere. Its rich, musky-sweet notes blend well with other floral and woody oils.

How to Use

  • Aromatherapy: Add a few drops to a diffuser or vaporiser for a calming environment.
  • Topical skincare: Use at 0.1–1% dilution in a carrier oil or base formulation.
  • Soapmaking: Use at 1–3% of total recipe weight.

  • 5ml and 20ml amber glass bottle, with 18 neck dripulator cap, either white or black cap.
  • 30ml, 50ml, 100ml, 250ml amber glass bottle, with 28 neck white dripulator cap (except for oils that are too thick for a dripulator, which have a black open pour cap).
  • Our bulk volumes of essential oils come in the following packaging
  • 500g and 1kg options come in an aluminium bottle.
