Orange essential oil, certified organic

Certified organic sweet orange essential oil is cold pressed from the peel of Citrus sinensis, an evergreen tree with sweet, juicy fruit and no bitter membrane. Bright, fresh, and distinctly citrus, this oil is widely used in aromatherapy, natural perfumery, home fragrance, and DIY formulations.

Sweet orange is believed to have been introduced to Europe by Arab traders in the 1st century, alongside bitter orange. Today, it remains one of the most popular citrus essential oils due to its cheerful aroma and versatility.

Strength of Aroma: Medium

Common Uses

Aromatherapy
Orange essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy to create an uplifting and positive atmosphere. Its fresh, fruity aroma is often chosen to support a sense of wellbeing and relaxation.

Air Freshening
With its bright citrus scent, orange essential oil works well as a natural air freshener. It can be added to diffusers or room sprays to help neutralise odours and freshen indoor spaces.

Cleaning
Orange essential oil is often included in natural cleaning blends. It is commonly added to homemade surface cleaners to assist with freshening and general household cleaning.

Crafts and DIY
This essential oil is frequently used in candles, soaps, bath bombs, and other handmade products to add a vibrant citrus scent.

Insect Deterrence
The aroma of orange essential oil is generally disliked by insects. While not a replacement for dedicated repellents, it is sometimes used as a natural option to discourage insects.

Linen and Home Fragrance
A few drops added to a sachet or fabric spray can lightly scent linens such as bedding, curtains, or cushions.

Mindfulness and Atmosphere
Orange essential oil is often used during meditation, yoga, or relaxation practices to create a calm yet uplifting environment.
