Purple Mica
Purple mica is a rich, pearlescent pigment that brings depth and vibrancy to cosmetics and soaps. Depending on usage, it can produce shades ranging from soft violet to deep purple, making it versatile for everything from eyeshadows and lip colours to decorative soap swirls.
Mica is a fine mineral powder that reflects light to create a pearlescent effect on the skin. It is produced by coating natural mica flakes with metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, iron oxide, or zirconium dioxide. The final colour is determined by the thickness of these oxide layers, giving each mica its unique shimmer.
The effect also depends on particle size: fine particles provide a smooth satin finish, while larger ones enhance sparkle and shimmer. In clear M&P soap, Purple mica shows at its most vibrant, while in opaque soaps the effect is softer but still creates stunning results when swirled through or brushed on the surface.
