Rosemary antioxidant
An oil-soluble extract rich in natural antioxidant compounds, rosemary antioxidant helps slow the oxidation of oils and butters, supporting longer shelf life and product stability. It’s ideal for use in anhydrous (oil-based) formulations such as balms, serums, and butters. It can also be added to emulsions (like creams and lotions) during the cool-down phase to enhance antioxidant content — but note, it does not replace the need for a broad-spectrum preservative.
While rosemary antioxidant may have a calming effect on the skin, it does contain a small amount of naturally occurring essential oil components (1–2%), so those with fragrance sensitivities may prefer to substitute with vitamin E.
Please note: This is not a preservative. It does not protect against microbial growth and should always be used alongside a broad-spectrum preservative in water-based formulations.
