Wintergreen essential oil, certified organic

Wintergreen essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Gaultheria fragrantissima, an evergreen plant native to parts of Asia.

This certified organic essential oil has a distinctive sweet, woody and medicinal aroma. It is a highly concentrated and potent essential oil, so only small amounts are generally required when formulating fragranced products.

Wintergreen is particularly associated with its naturally high methyl salicylate content and requires more careful consideration in formulation than many commonly used essential oils.

Common Uses

Soap & body products
Adds a distinctive cool, medicinal character to soaps and fragranced body products. Use sparingly and ensure the amount used is appropriate for the intended finished product.

Home fragrance
Wintergreen can be used to add a strong, distinctive note to suitable home fragrance formulations and seasonal blends.

Fragrance blending
Wintergreen can add depth and a characteristic sweet, medicinal note to essential oil and fragrance blends. Its intensity means it is generally used sparingly.
