Formulation notes
- Allantoin is usually used at 0.2–0.5% in cosmetic formulations.
- While it can be used up to 2%, concentrations above ~0.5% can be difficult to fully dissolve and may leave the solution cloudy.
- It dissolves best in heated water and should be added to the water phase.
- Ensure sufficient mixing and heat to achieve full dispersion.
