How-to Video
Note: This formula is not exactly the same as this recipe, however the method is the same. Please refer to ratios here rather than in the video.

Equipment
Rectangle mould
Mini spatula - recommended
Stick blender

Ingredients
Step 1
420g | 60% SCI surfactant (Use a face mask when working with SCI)
105g | 15% decyl glucoside
70g | 10% cetearyl alcohol
49g | 7% conditioner pellets
14g | 2% cocoa butter, certified organic, deodorised

Step 2
7g | 1% hydrolysed quinoa
7g | 1% lactic acid
7g | 1% coco caprylate
14g | 2% caramel popcorn fragrance oil
7g | 1% Geogard 221
Pinch of bronze sparkle (used in photo) or gold sparkle mica - add and stir until desired colour is reached.

Method:
(Work in a well ventilated area, put on your dusk mask and turn on the extractor fan if you have one, the SCI fumes are very unpleasant at the beginning.)

  • Melt Step 1 ingredients in a pot on the stove. Once it's starting to melt, blend with a stick blender to speed up the process and get a smoother finished bar. Blend until the mixture comes together to form a paste-like consistency.
  • Take the pot off the heat and blend in Step 2 ingredients.
  • Using a spatula, pour the mixture into moulds. Smooth top over with a knife. It can be difficult to get a clean finish so don’t worry if it’s a bit messy.
  • Pop them in the fridge to set.
To use:
Wet hair and use bar to build up a lather.
Rinse and condition.
