Cetearyl alcohol
Cetearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol used as a co-emulsifier, thickener, and emollient in both skincare and haircare formulations. Supplied as white pellets, it is derived from sustainable RSPO mass balance certified palm oil.
This ingredient is a blend of cetyl and stearyl alcohols, combining the benefits of both to improve stability, texture, and conditioning in a wide range of products.
In creams and lotions, cetearyl alcohol helps to create a smooth, creamy consistency, adds body, and reduces the greasy feel of oils and butters. It also acts as a mild emollient, leaving skin soft and conditioned.
In haircare, it is especially valued in conditioners and treatments, where it contributes to a rich, creamy base and helps leave hair feeling soft, smooth, and more manageable.
