D-Panthenol 75% (Pro-Vitamin B5)
D-Panthenol, also known as Pro-Vitamin B5, is a versatile humectant and conditioning ingredient widely used in both skincare and haircare formulations.
Our D-Panthenol is a 75% active, water-soluble liquid. It is synthetically derived, palm oil free, vegan and GMO free, making it easy to incorporate into a wide range of water-based formulations. The manufacturer's specification gives a D-Panthenol assay of 75.0–78.5%.
In Skincare
D-Panthenol acts as a humectant, helping to attract and retain moisture. It is commonly used in creams, lotions, serums, gels and other hydrating formulations to help leave skin feeling soft, smooth and conditioned.
In Haircare
D-Panthenol is a popular addition to shampoos, conditioners and leave-in hair products. It helps attract and retain moisture and can help improve softness, smoothness and manageability while enhancing the appearance of shine without leaving the hair feeling greasy.
Formulating with D-Panthenol
D-Panthenol is water soluble and can be incorporated into the water phase of a formulation. Where possible, we recommend adding it during the cool-down phase.
Avoid heating above 70°C, as excessive heat may cause racemisation.
