Natural Cucumber Micellar Water
Make Your Own Natural Cucumber Micellar Water
Micellar waters are gentle, no-rinse cleansers made from a blend of water-based ingredients and mild surfactants that lift away dirt, oil, and makeup. They're suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin, and can be customised with hydrosols, extracts, or actives to suit your needs.
This Natural Cucumber Micellar Water formula features cucumber glycerite to help soothe and hydrate, while panthenol and glycerin provide extra moisture support. Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside acts as a natural solubiliser and cleansing agent, and a touch of squalane adds a gentle oil phase to help dissolve makeup and impurities.
You can follow this recipe directly or use it as a base to experiment with your own choice of hydrosols, extracts, or other water-based ingredients — see substitutions below.

Substitutions
- Hydrosol: Swap rose hydrosol with any other hydrosol like lavender, chamomile, or kanuka—or use distilled water.
- Glycerite: Try papaya, watermelon, or any other glycerite extract instead of cucumber.
- Squalane: Optional for extra cleansing, but can be omitted for an even lighter feel.
- D-Panthenol: Can be left out or replaced with a water-soluble active (like niacinamide) at the same percentage.
